Bench / Tourists / Drill / Tapes / Tees / Murlo

HI, just a little round up for you...

Primitive Parts have a new 7" coming out on Faux Discx this month... TV Wheels / The Bench. More tea-towel pop from THEE BOYS.

Feature put out a split for their tour with Slowcoaches, which has already been & gone (bit late on this one sorry...) it's called Tourists, it is excellent and has a Wire cover on it, which leads me nicely on to...

Sauna Youth & Monotony are playing this year's Drill Festival (curated by Wire)... Colin Newman rang me up just before dinner the other day and asked if we'd like to play. We said yes. Monotony are playing on the Thursday (the 4th Dec) and SY are playing on the Friday (the 5th Dec), both at the Green Door Store.

Monotony tapes are now available from Comfortable On A Tightrope. Whilst you're there I'd highly recommend picking up a copy of the Waiters 12" too.

The Positive Press has printed up more Sauna Youth shirts... get em while they're hottttttttt.

2 things -

You can listen to our 2 day trip to Manchester ((obviously not the whole 2 days of interaction, including a visit to the new Manchester Central Library (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), Akbar's Curry House (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and The Eagle Inn (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) but rather the time that was spent on air with M. Riley))

BIG thanks to Marc, Michelle, Chris & Perry.

The other thing is that our friend Chris Smith designed us a shirt and Chris Murphy printed them. That wouldn't be such great news if they now weren't ONLINE TO BUY.

Work Zone

Forgot to tell you this earlier but the Saturday just gone was Cassette Store Day and Comfortable on a Tightrope put out the Monotony recordings for it... I believe it went well, unfortunately none of us made it down to any cassette stores because we were playing at the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art with Monotony, Brown Brogues, Milky Wimpshake and Sorry Escalator. Which was very fun indeed. Thanks to Nicky & Big Anne for taking care of us.

I don't know if there is anywhere online to buy the tape but we will have our copies on Monday and Tuesday at two gigs we're playing in Manchester/Salford... On Monday we do a session for Marc Riley at 6music as Sauna Youth, where we'll be playing a bunch of songs off our new album, then we head over to the Eagle Inn to play a gig there. The next day we do another session for Marc with Monotony, playing something or other, and then head back to the Eagle Inn to play another gig. Wild.

These shows are being sorted out by Chris at Hey! Manchester and Perry at C.O.A.T.... all the details are RIGHT HERE.
