I am the source of the overflow

A torn neck

An effervescent glow

I am the route to the heart of it

I am a feat,

I am a cage

I separate and I connect

I am the Bridge

Don’t think it can go through,

Endless living between the two.

I was born, washed and stripped

With my head nailed to the track

I’m separate

But I connect

I am the Bridge

Human Trolls

We recently had a strange run-in with a very polite and fawning real life internet youtube troll (RLIYTT). It was a fascinating experience which I think one day i'll go into more detail about, at the moment I can't be bothered if i'm honest. However I did want to share with you the fall out of this run-in. Essentially the RLIYTT ended up letting us know that if you're a feminist then you can't be in a punk band...

i'll just let that sit there for a while.

... aaaand, his fellow RLIYTTs have started a campaign to let us know our failings in the punk department and hit us where it hurts most... youtube comments (The last one will be available to buy as a t-shirt asap btw etc)

 Thanks bye!

"Filmed among the ruins of The Crystal Palace Terraces, Transmitters is a playful and poetic ode to desire".
Directed, shot and edited by Gary Mcquiggin of Welywyn Garden City, known for his work previously with The PheromoansThe Bomber Jackets and Deerhoof, the film recalls James Broughton's surrealist miniature The Pleasure Garden (1957).
Using a number of the same locations, the band appear, disappear and re-appear amongst and against the modern day remains of the ruins. Mcquiggin ups the 'pleasurable strangeness' of Broughton's original with increasingly splenetic rhythmic cuts and visual non-sequiturs.
Transmitters continues the tradition of 'the park' as a place of self-reflection and respite from urban hullabaloo, as well as a space for serious transformative experience - as seen and heard in works by artists diverse as The UV Race (Life Park), The Kinks (Village Green Preservation Society), Gary Numan (Down In The Park) and Prince (Paisley Park).
"Stylish, funny, charming - Transmitters may be a slight film but it is by no means an inconsiderable one" (reworked excerpt from the Pleasure Garden BFI DVD booklet, Jim Cook, 2009)

TV Eyes 2

Hey, Marc Riley has a new show on iPlayer and he kindly asked Monotony & Sauna Youth to come up and be on it... It was a suitably strange experience, heightened by the fact this was all filmed at about 9 in the morning. We're supremely grateful though that he'd let a bunch of unknown chancers take up two slots on his TV show. It was all nicely contrasted too by seeing this after we came home from playing Power Lunches on Monday afternoon (which was great, thanks for coming, etc...)

Anyway, here's MONOTONY
